Wibiya.com has one solution: Custom web-based tool bars that are very easy to create, implement and manage. Dr. Yossi Vardi created the company responsible for the Wibiya toolbar, Modular Patterns Ltd.
Initially intended for blogs, I’m testing it on Auction Direct USA. The simplicity impressed me and more importantly, initial feedback and results have been positive. Here’s a quick overview:
The toolbar is still in beta phase and some technical glitches should be expected. The few issues I have seen were quickly resolved. Hopefully new releases will continue to build on the interactive elements available. Some features and options I’d like to see added:
- Chat
- Ability to add more custom, quick links
- Video access (YouTube, Vimeo, etc)
- Google Friend Connect
- Multiple RSS feed subscription options
- IE8 bug fixes
