Ford Builds a Community

.!.

A recently launched site, based on the new 2010 Ford Mustang, is another stunning example of how Ford is building the community around their brand, creating exceptionally unique online experiences and pushing the engagement needle to new highs.

The new Ford Mustang site is nicely organized, easy to use and lots of fun. The standard fare is obviously present: Picture galleries, build & price your own car and stay current with the latest Mustang buzz. The real excitement happens within the community customiser tool – up to four different users can work together and create their own custom Mustang. Build your own custom designs, share your creation and see how other people creative liberties match up with you own. Firstbornmultimedia.com has developed one of their best creations yet.

Here’s a nice example of his and her’s Mustangs I designed.

Mustang fans will enjoy customizing their vehicle’s paint, ground effects and even the cloud of smoke from their imaginary break-stand. Casual users will get wrapped up in the endless design possibilities at their disposal. I’d expect to see more community type of sites as ideas continue to swell, technology improves functionality and loyal fans show their support for community based collaboration. Ford nailed this one.
